Hello

Solutions Architect. I help teams design automation that holds up in production.

Profile

Hello, I'm Jan Repnak, and I specialize in automation.

I was born and raised in Mecklenburg and studied Industrial Engineering at the University of Rostock. Today, I live and work in Lüneburg, which I consider the greatest place on earth.

At n8n, I help customers design workflow automation built for production. This includes transitioning AI agents from the demo stage into reliable systems that teams can operate, monitor, and trust. Before n8n, I helped enterprises design their secrets management with HashiCorp Vault. That background shapes how I look at AI agents: an agent is an identity with credentials, and it should never hold more access than the task in front of it.

Most teams don't need more AI. What they need is automation that works. Roughly half of all tasks worth automating don't require models. The real challenges arise when an agent interacts with production systems: who approved it? what did it do? and can you verify it later?

Focus areas

  • 01

    n8n enterprise architecture

Reference architectures on AWS and Kubernetes, queue mode at scale, custom nodes, and deployment patterns for large-scale rollouts.

  • 02

    Workflow design and error handling

Idempotent steps, retries, dead-letter paths, and observability that holds up, even at 3 a.m.

  • 03

    AI agents in production

The less glamorous but critical side: evaluations, human-in-the-loop, and telemetry, so you can see what an agent actually did and whether it's getting better or worse.

  • 04

    Agent identity and access

Agents inherit the credential problem, then scale it. Least privilege, scoped credentials, secrets management, and audit trails for workflows that act on their own.
